Malia Kealoha (National Leadership Academy 2015) won a special election for the Hawaii House of Representatives this summer, becoming the latest APAICS alumna in elected office.
She credits the Women's Collective for the push to run. "I sat in office hours with women who had done it. Nobody told me to wait my turn."
Malia now joins the Leadership Academy Alumni group's mentors for first-time candidates.
